Mrs. Joy Perozek: Administrator
I have been the lead teacher of the Monarch Classroom for the past 10 years and look forward to overseeing all three MDS classroom environments this year. I received my bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing from the Ohio State University and am Montessori trained through the Adrian Dominican Montessori Teacher Education Institute. Here at MDS my days are filled with joy! I love to see the children grow in confidence and independence!
When I am not at MDS, I spend time with my husband, Ed, and our four children: Teddy (14), Jack (12) and Ana (9) and Liza (5). We enjoy doing a variety of outdoor activities and love being involved in our home church.
Mrs. Mary Todorowski: Administrator
Hello! My name is Mary Todorowski and I am the administrator here at MDS. My husband Billy and I have four boys: Billy (20), Triston (15), Gordy (14), and Jude (12). I love spending time with my family. We keep very busy traveling around to all their various sporting events.
After receiving my bachelor’s degree from BGSU, I went on to teach Special Education for seven years. It is my love for children that inspired me to become certified in Montessori Education and the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. This type of education sends a positive message to young minds and therefore builds confidence. I am always amazed by a young child’s quest to become independent. It is a huge blessing to come to MDS each day! I love what I do and am thankful to be a part of your child’s life!
Mrs. Sarah Duvall: Monarch Directress
My name is Sarah Duvall and I am so excited to be joining the Montessori Day School community! I am originally from San Diego, but have been living in Toledo for the past five years with my husband and our one year old daughter. After receiving my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Gordon College, I was a teacher at a small private school in San Diego for four years. Since moving to Toledo, I discovered the Montessori philosophy and fell in love! I received my Montessori Early Childhood Credential from the Montessori Center for Teacher Training in San Diego, and have been teaching at West Side Montessori for the last four years. I am passionate about the Montessori philosophy and can’t wait to get to know all of you!
Mrs. Rachel Seiple: Admiral Directress
Hello! My name is Rachel Seiple, I am the lead teacher in the Admiral classroom. I am blessed to part of the staff and have been with MDS since 2016. I received my Montessori Training through the Adrian Dominican Montessori Teacher Education Institute. Prior to receiving my Montessori Training, I graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelors of Education and I am a licensed Intervention Specialist.
My husband Austin and I welcomed our first bundle of joy Vivian Kate Seiple in February of 2017. In our home, we plan to raise our children using the Montessori method. I feel strongly that children when given their independence are able to fully blossom. I am truly blessed to have my days surrounded by your lovely children.
Mrs. Lisa Babcock : Admiral Assistant
I am a Directress in the Admiral Classroom. In 2011, I completed the preprimary Montessori education program and this will be my 10th year at Montessori Day School. I absolutely love being with the children! A Montessori education sets children up for success and it is amazing what they accomplish each year in the program. I am thrilled to be teaching in the Admiral classroom this year and I have great expectations for my students.
My favorite pastimes are spending time with my husband, Robert, two sons Brandon and Jessy and my grandchild Kaleigh! I also love to walk my dog Kara in the park and I enjoy cooking and yoga.
Mrs. Angela Wurz: Monarch Assistant
Mrs. Rachel South: Caterpillar Directress
I am thrilled to be a member of the MDS teaching staff! Montessori principles were introduced to me as a new mom and I embraced the independent learning style early on in our own home. I am in awe of the connections that young minds are able to make and it is a blessing to foster such growth that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.
Time outside of the classroom is spent at our family vegetable farm and greenhouse east of Toledo. With a degree in Floral Design and Marketing form the Ohio State University, I hope to carry on the family business through the next generation because I value the connection with the land and the community we serve.
